Publication Ethics

General Principles

The journal "Radiotekhnika" adheres to international standards of publication ethics and academic integrity. The editorial policy is based on the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics, and also takes into account the principles of the World Association of Medical Editors and the San Francisco Declaration on Research Assessment.

The editorial board ensures that all stages of the publication process (from manuscript submission and peer review to decision-making and publication) are carried out transparently, impartially and responsibly.

All participants in the publication process (authors, reviewers, editors and members of the editorial board) are obliged to adhere to the principles of integrity, objectivity, confidentiality and transparency.

Editorial Responsibilities

The editorial board of the journal "Radiotekhnika" ensures compliance with the principles of objectivity, impartiality and confidentiality at all stages of the publication process.

The editorial board ensures:

  • objective, impartial and timely consideration of manuscripts;
  • decision-making based on scientific value, novelty and relevance to the journal’s scope;
  • organization of independent peer review with the involvement of qualified experts;
  • confidentiality of submitted materials.

In case of detection of violations of publication ethics, the editorial board acts in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics, which may include rejection of the manuscript, publication of corrections, expressions of concern or retraction of the article.

Author Responsibilities

Authors are obliged to adhere to the principles of academic integrity and ensure the scientific quality of the submitted materials.

Authors are obliged to:

  • submit original, previously unpublished materials;
  • not submit the same manuscript to multiple journals simultaneously;
  • properly format all borrowings with references to sources;
  • ensure the reliability, accuracy and scientific validity of the results;
  • not allow fabrication, falsification of data or other forms of scientific misconduct.

Authorship must reflect the actual contribution to the research. All co-authors must be familiar with the final version of the manuscript and agree to its submission. Persons who do not meet the criteria for authorship may be mentioned in the acknowledgements.

Authors must disclose the presence of conflicts of interest and sources of funding (if any).

In the case of use of previously published materials, authors must ensure proper citation and, if necessary, obtain permission from the copyright holder.

In the event of detection of significant errors after publication, authors are obliged to notify the editorial board and assist in their correction.

Peer Review Procedure

The journal applies double-blind peer review, in which authors and reviewers remain anonymous.

Manuscripts go through the following stages:

  • initial editorial review for compliance with the journal’s scope and formatting requirements;
  • peer review by independent specialists in the relevant field in the absence of conflicts of interest;
  • editorial decision-making taking into account reviewers’ recommendations.

Based on the results of peer review, the manuscript may be:

  • accepted for publication;
  • accepted after revision;
  • rejected.

The final decision on publication is made by the editorial board of the journal.

Plagiarism and Originality

The journal considers only original works that have not been previously published and are not under consideration in other publications.

Plagiarism in any form is unacceptable, in particular:

  • direct borrowing of text without reference to the source;
  • self-plagiarism (reuse of one’s own previously published materials without proper reference);
  • improper paraphrasing;
  • use of ideas, data or results without appropriate citation.

Manuscripts may be checked using software tools for detecting textual borrowings.

Authors are responsible for correct citation of all used sources, as well as for compliance with copyright requirements when using materials from other publications.

In the event of detection of violations, the editorial board acts in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics, which may include rejection of the manuscript, sending for revision, publication of corrections or retraction of the article.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers provide independent expert evaluation of submitted manuscripts in compliance with the principles of objectivity and academic integrity.

Reviewers are obliged to:

  • carry out objective, impartial and reasoned evaluation of manuscripts;
  • accept for review only those materials in which they have appropriate professional competence;
  • maintain confidentiality of the received materials;
  • not use unpublished materials for personal benefit;
  • inform the editorial board about possible conflicts of interest and refuse to review if such conflicts exist;
  • pay attention to possible cases of plagiarism or significant overlap with other publications.

Reviews must be constructive, appropriate and aimed at improving the scientific quality of the work.

Conflict of Interest

All participants in the publication process – authors, reviewers and editors – must disclose the presence of potential conflicts of interest (financial, professional or personal) that may influence the objectivity of the results or their evaluation.

Authors are obliged to indicate all relevant conflicts of interest and sources of funding in the manuscript.

Reviewers must inform the editorial board about the presence of a conflict of interest and refuse to participate in the review process in cases where such conflict may affect the impartiality of the evaluation.

Editors do not participate in the consideration of manuscripts in which they have a personal or professional interest.

Multiple and Parallel Publication

The journal does not consider manuscripts that have been previously published, are under consideration in other publications, or substantially duplicate already published works without proper reference.

It is not allowed:

  • simultaneous submission of the same manuscript to multiple journals;
  • multiple or redundant publication of materials without transparent reference to related works.

Authors must inform about all related publications, including preprints, conference materials or extended versions of previously published works, and ensure their proper citation.

In the event of violations, the editorial board acts in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics, which may include rejection of the manuscript, publication of corrections or retraction of the article.

Data Integrity and Research Integrity

Authors are responsible for the accuracy, reliability and correctness of the data presented in the manuscript.

Misconduct in research is unacceptable and includes, in particular:

  • fabrication or falsification of data;
  • manipulation of results or their selective presentation;
  • other forms of scientific misconduct.

Upon request of the editorial board, authors must provide clarifications regarding the presented results or additional materials necessary for their verification.

In case of suspicion of violations, the editorial board acts in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics, which may include conducting an investigation, rejection of the manuscript, publication of corrections, expressions of concern or retraction of the article.

Corrections and Retractions

The journal aims to ensure the accuracy, integrity and transparency of the scientific record. In case of detection of errors or violations, the editorial board takes appropriate measures in accordance with the recommendations of the Committee on Publication Ethics.

Depending on the nature of the problem, the following measures may be applied:

  • publication of a correction in case of minor errors that do not affect the scientific results;
  • publication of an expression of concern in cases of reasonable doubts about the reliability of the results;
  • retraction of the article in case of significant errors, violations of data integrity or unethical research practices.

The corresponding notices are linked to the original publication and ensure that readers are informed about the changes made.

Use of Generative Artificial Intelligence

The journal defines the following principles for the use of generative artificial intelligence tools:

  • use is allowed for auxiliary purposes (language editing, improvement of structure and formatting of the text);
  • use is not allowed for generating scientific results, their interpretation or conclusions;
  • artificial intelligence tools cannot be listed as authors;
  • responsibility for the content, accuracy and reliability of the materials rests entirely with the authors;
  • if artificial intelligence tools were used in a way that may have influenced the content of the manuscript, this must be disclosed by the authors.

Editors and reviewers may use auxiliary AI tools provided that the principles of confidentiality and academic integrity are maintained.

A complaint may be submitted by any interested party.

The editorial board reviews the provided information, may request explanations from the authors and involve independent experts if necessary.
